The way we say ‘goodbye’ should reflect the life that was lived

At Timmins Funerals we know that there are a range of personal touches which can make a difference. We’ve put together a few simple suggestions, and we can help you incorporate as few or as many as you’d like:

  • Photographs are a wonderful reminder and can be placed on the coffin, at the entrance to the chapel, or anywhere else you wish
  • Large scale photographs can now be produced cost effectively with new technology, and placed on an easel
  • You could also consider placing a collage of ‘memory’ photographs near the entrance
  • Candles may be lit as part of the ceremony or placed in the chapel
  • Flowers may be placed on the casket before, during or after the service
  • Music can be very powerful, and a selection of meaningful music can bring back memories and allow reflection
  • Live music, such as bagpipes or a jazz band, can also be arranged
  • Memory photographs and video can be made into a presentation of your loved one’s life
  • Balloon or dove releases can be very uplifting after the service
  • A ‘Memory’ book can be used for mourners to write their personal memories and kind words on

 

If you can think of anything else not listed here, we’d love to help arrange it for you. The Life Celebration for your loved one can be as unique as you wish.

It’s worth noting that some religions have specific criteria for funerals and you may need to discuss your choices with the official before confirming with us. We can help coordinate this.
